Grant Writer

Commitment: 5 - 10 hours a month (variable)
Location: Remote
Pay: Commission-based

Responsibilities:

  • Grant Identification: Identify grant opportunities that align with Women & Theatre’s mission and goals.

  • Proposal Development: Assist in putting together compelling grant proposals and supporting materials.

  • Funding Network: Leverage your network of funding organizations and individuals within the theatre industry to support our initiatives.

  • Growth Potential: As the organization grows, this role may expand to include helping with funder/donor relations, overall development strategy, funder reports, and more (with adjusted compensation to reflect additional responsibilities).

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: Someone with grant writing experience, ideally with a proven track record of successful grant applications. We are also open to an individual who is early in their career and looking to grow their experience and skills.

  • Passion: A strong passion for theatre and gender equity.

  • Commission-Based: Willing to work on commission, with potential for position growth as the organization expands.

  • Strong Communicator: An individual with great interpersonal skills and attention to detail who can collaborate effectively with our team.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Grant Writing: Proven experience in grant writing with a successful track record.

  • Research: Ability to identify and research potential funding sources.

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Organization: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Networking: Established network within the theatre industry is highly desirable. In lieu of an established network: Go-getter attitude and enthusiasm for building relationships.

Social Media Volunteer

Commitment: 5 hours/month
Location: Remote

Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling Posts: Assist in scheduling and posting content across our social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and other platforms. 

  • Community Engagement: Engage with our online community by responding to comments, messages, and interactions, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

  • Brand Building: Help build and maintain our brand presence on social media by consistently reflecting our mission and values.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Someone passionate about theatre, gender equity, and social media and excited to learn and grow their skills. 

  • A proactive individual who is enthusiastic about building a brand and community online.

  • Basic familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok).

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Community Events Volunteer

Commitment: Day of event
Location: Virtual and in-person event options

Responsibilities:

  • Day-of Logistics: Assist with the setup, execution, and breakdown of events, ensuring everything runs smoothly. 

  • Point of Contact: Serve as an additional point of contact for attendees, providing assistance and answering questions.

  • Community Building: Engage with attendees, helping to foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

What We're Looking For:

  • Enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about theatre and gender equity and want to help us build the Women & Theatre community.

  • Reliable and proactive team players who can handle day-of event logistics.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
